Home and Field LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our customers and website visitors in Ventura, California and elsewhere. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you interact with us, including when you visit our website, contact us by phone, email, text, or social media, or use our handyman and related services.


By using our services or providing us with your information, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.


1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information when you interact with Home and Field LLC:


  • Contact information: name, email address, phone number, mailing address.
  • Service information: property address, type of work requested, project details, preferred appointment times.
  • Communication information: messages, emails, text messages, and other communications you send to us.
  • Marketing preferences: your preferences for receiving promotions, deals, event invitations, and other marketing communications.
  • Device and usage information (if you use our website): IP address, browser type, pages visited, and similar usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies.

We also use customer relationship management (CRM) software, including Jobber, to help us organize, store, and manage your information securely and efficiently, so that we can provide accurate estimates, schedule jobs, send invoices, and manage communications in a consistent way.


3. Legal Basis and Applicability (Including California Law)

We operate in California and strive to follow applicable state privacy requirements, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended (sometimes referred to as CPRA). These laws may not apply to every small business, but we choose to honor certain core privacy principles for all customers, such as transparency, access, and choice.


If and to the extent CCPA applies to our business, California residents may have additional rights described in Section 8.



4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: with third-party vendors who help us operate our business (for example, email service providers, scheduling tools, marketing platforms, payment processors, and IT support). This includes Jobber, our CRM platform, which we use to store customer information, manage jobs and schedules, send communications, and maintain service records. Jobber uses this information only to provide services to us and is contractually required to protect it.
  • Business operations: as needed to run and grow our business, such as bookkeeping, customer relationship management, analytics, and advertising technology partners.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, sale, or other transfer of some or all of our business or assets, subject to confidentiality obligations.



5. Cookies and Online Tracking

If you visit our website, we may use cookies and similar technologies to:

These safeguards include using reputable third-party platforms such as Jobber to store and manage customer data, which maintain their own security controls designed to protect the information we enter into their systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have choices about how we use your information for marketing:


  • Email or text marketing: You can opt out of promotional emails or texts by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us using the information in Section 10.
  • Preferences: You may update your contact information or marketing preferences by contacting us.
  • Cookies and tracking: You can adjust browser settings to block or delete cookies and use available cookie or privacy controls on our website.

Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you non-promotional messages related to ongoing or past services, such as appointment confirmations, invoices, or service updates.

If and to the extent California privacy laws apply to Home and Field LLC, California residents may have the following rights regarding their personal information:

Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we learn that we have done so, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Handyman Services – Terms and Conditions 

1. Estimates and Pricing

1.1 All prices and estimates are based on standard installation conditions and the information available at the time of the estimate. If actual site conditions differ or additional issues are discovered (such as hidden damage, code-related upgrades, or unsafe conditions), additional charges may apply.
1.2 Any change in price due to unforeseen conditions or changes in scope will be communicated to the customer and must be approved (in writing, text, or email) before the additional work is performed.
1.3 Unless otherwise stated, estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued.

2. Payment Terms

2.1 Payment is due in full upon completion of the work, unless a different payment schedule is agreed to in writing before work begins.
2.2 Accepted payment methods include cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, or credit/debit card.
2.3 For larger projects, a deposit may be required prior to scheduling. The deposit amount and schedule of remaining payments will be specified in writing.
2.4 Invoices not paid within 7 days of the due date may be subject to a late fee of 5%. Additional late fees and interest may accrue if payment remains outstanding, as specified on the invoice.
2.5 The customer is responsible for any bank fees, returned check fees, chargeback fees, or similar costs incurred due to non‑sufficient funds or disputed payments.

3. Service Call Minimum

3.1 A minimum service charge of $150 applies to all visits. This minimum covers travel time, evaluation of the issue(s), and the first portion of labor.
3.2 Work that exceeds the labor included in the minimum service charge will be billed at the then‑current hourly or flat rate, which will be disclosed to the customer before work continues.

4. Materials

4.1 Materials may be supplied by either the customer or by Home and Field.
4.2 When materials are purchased by Home and Field a markup of up to 30–50% may be applied to cover procurement, handling, and overhead.
4.3 Home and Field is not responsible for delays, defects, failures, or additional costs resulting from customer‑supplied materials, including used or previously installed items.
4.4 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, unused or leftover materials purchased by Home and Field remain the property of Home and Field. 

5. Scheduling, Cancellations, and No‑Shows

5.1 Appointment dates and times are scheduled based on availability and are not guaranteed start‑to‑finish time frames, as job durations may vary.
5.2 The customer agrees to provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
5.3 Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a $75 cancellation fee.
5.4 If the customer or their representative is not present, or the property is not accessible at the scheduled time, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and the applicable fee may be charged.

6. Warranty on Workmanship

6.1 Home and Field warrants its labor against defects in workmanship for 90 days from the date the work is completed, unless otherwise stated in writing for a specific project.
6.2 This warranty covers workmanship only and does not apply to:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Misuse, abuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance
  • Damage caused by other contractors, occupants, pets, or third parties
  • Manufacturer defects or failures in materials, fixtures, or equipment
  • Customer‑supplied or used materials, which are installed “as‑is” with no warranty
    6.3 Under this warranty, Home and Field will return to correct verified workmanship issues at no additional labor cost. Any necessary materials or parts may be billed separately, unless otherwise agreed.
    6.4 Temporary or emergency repairs may be designated as such and may carry a more limited warranty or no warranty, which will be disclosed to the customer when applicable.

7. Licensing and Scope of Work (California)

7.1 Home and Field provides handyman services and is not a licensed general contractor, unless otherwise disclosed in writing with an active license number.
7.2 In accordance with California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) guidelines, the total price of any project (including labor and all materials, whether supplied by the customer or by Home and Field shall not exceed $1,000 for work performed without a contractor’s license.
7.3 Projects where the total contract price exceeds $1,000 may require performance under a properly licensed contractor and a written home improvement contract, as required by California law.
7.4 Home and Field reserves the right to decline or discontinue any project that would exceed the permissible handyman scope or otherwise require a contractor’s license if such license is not being used for that project.

8. Access, Site Conditions, and Safety

8.1 The customer agrees to provide safe, reasonable, and unobstructed access to the work area, including clear pathways and removal of personal items that may interfere with the work.
8.2 Home and Field will take reasonable care to protect the property during the performance of the work. However, Home and Field is not responsible for pre‑existing conditions, hidden structural issues, outdated or unsafe electrical or plumbing systems, or other concealed defects that may be uncovered during the work.
8.3 If unsafe conditions or code violations are discovered, Home and Field may stop work until appropriate corrective measures are taken. Additional charges may apply for any extra work requested or required to address such conditions.

9. Liability and Limitations of Damages

9.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Home and Field is not liable for damage caused by pre‑existing conditions, hidden or latent defects, or failure of existing systems (such as old pipes, wiring, fixtures, or finishes) that are beyond the work actually performed.
9.2 Home and Field is not responsible for consequential, incidental, or indirect damages, including but not limited to loss of use of a room or property, loss of income, delay costs, or similar losses.
9.3 The customer is encouraged to maintain adequate homeowner’s or renter’s insurance. Any claims should be promptly reported to the appropriate insurer when applicable.

10. Right to Refuse or Stop Work

10.1 Home and Field reserves the right to refuse service or discontinue work at any time if:

  • Conditions are unsafe or hazardous
  • The requested work is outside the agreed scope or violates applicable laws or codes
  • The customer behaves in a threatening, abusive, or inappropriate manner
    10.2 If work is stopped for any of the reasons above, the customer is responsible for payment for all labor, materials, and fees incurred up to the time work is discontinued.

11. Cleanup and Debris Removal

11.1 Upon completion of the work, Home and Field will leave the work area in a broom‑clean condition.
11.2 Standard job‑related debris (such as packaging, small scrap materials, and similar waste) will be collected and either placed in the customer’s designated trash receptacle or removed, as agreed in advance.
11.3 Removal and disposal of large items (such as appliances, furniture, large quantities of construction debris, or hazardous materials) are not included unless specifically stated in the estimate and may be subject to additional fees.

12. Changes in Scope (Change Orders)

12.1 Any changes or additions to the agreed scope of work must be approved by the customer and Home and Field before the additional work is performed.
12.2 Changes may affect the schedule and price. The adjusted pricing and any revised timeline will be communicated to the customer and documented in writing, text, or email.

13. Photos and Documentation

13.1 Home and Field may take photos or videos of the work area before, during, and after the work for documentation, quality control, and record‑keeping.
13.2 With the customer’s consent, Home and Field may use non‑identifying images of completed work for marketing or portfolio purposes. Personally identifying information (such as house numbers, faces, or license plates) will be avoided or obscured where reasonably possible.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any services provided under them, are governed by the laws of the State of California.
14.2 In the event of a dispute, the customer and Home and Field agree to first attempt to resolve the matter in good faith through direct communication.
14.3 If a resolution cannot be reached, the parties may pursue any remedies available under applicable law. Venue and jurisdiction for any legal action shall be in the appropriate courts of the county where the services were performed, unless otherwise required by law.

15. Acceptance of Terms

15.1 By scheduling services, allowing work to begin, signing an estimate or work order, or paying any deposit or invoice, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
